Mark Tait spent his formative years on the remote island of South Uist, off the west coast of Scotland. With only one TV station and the Atlantic wind for company, music became everything. Céilidhs in the old schoolhouse, his mother's Beatles collection, and the raw energy of punk all lit a fire that never went out.
After years playing Glasgow's band scene, a stint in London with band Zobi, and a period of creative soul-searching, Mark put together a one-man show called 5th and Pontiac and released Terms and Conditions Apply — earning strong reviews and a new following.
A gig in Valencia changed everything. Mark decided to stay. Within a year he'd met local musicians Guindi, Goss, Bote, and Sergio, and the band Skallywag was born. Working with producer Raúl Nacher, they recorded what would become the Skallywag album under the 5th and Pontiac name. The gigs got bigger — the Low Festival in 2014 was a highlight — and the band has never sounded better.

Con solo una cadena de televisión y el viento atlántico como compañía, la música se convirtió en todo. Los céilidhs en la vieja escuela, la colección de Beatles de su madre y la energía cruda del punk encendieron un fuego que nunca se apagó.
